The faces behind the science

A total of 41 Principal Investigators have teamed up to build this collaboration venture specifically aimed at understanding the neural pathways underlying pain. The Heidelberg Pain Consortium (SFB1158) was initiated in 2015 and is currently in its third funding period.

Besides the principal host, the Medical Faculty Heidelberg, different groups from the Medical Faculty Mannheim, the Faculty of Bioscience as well as long term associates at the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI), the Technical University Munich, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the University of Bonn, the University of Würzburg, the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and the University of Saarland comprise this unique cooperation.
