Multiomics Single Cell Analysis and Spatial Gene Expression Analysis of Intact Tissues
Multicellular organisms and dynamic biological processes consist of a complex interplay of multiple individual cells. Until recently, most molecular studies have relied on bulk analysis methods that combine all cells into a single readout and eliminate morphological context, masking the true biology of the sample.
10x Genomics single cell Chromium solutions provide the necessary resolution and scale for cell-by-cell multiomics characterization of gene expression, epigenetic features, CRISPR-mediated perturbations and information about cell surface protein expression. However, the relationship between cells and their relative locations within a tissue sample can be critical to understanding biological processes like organogenesis. Due to the dissociation of tissues for single cell analysis, the information about the spatial location of a cell in a tissue gets lost. The Visium Spatial Gene Expression Solution from 10x Genomics analyzes complete transcriptomes in intact tissue sections, enabling the discovery of gene expression for understanding the relationships between cellular function, phenotype, and location in the tissue.
In this webinar, 10x Genomics will introduce the Chromium single cell multiomics solutions and Visium Spatial solution for the unbiased analysis of the expression of markers in single cells and tissue sections. Examples for the benefit of both solutions for neurological research will be given with special focus on the multiome assay for the simultaneous analysis of gene expression and open chromatin patterns in the same single cell.
